Pichhwai - Craft Documentation 

 

Academic project at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar, India. A group of five students including me did research on the craft of Pichhwai, an art of religious fabric painting. 

 

While working on the project, I designed the layout for the craft documentation book. Along with designing layout and putting it all together in a book format, I designed the cover page and did some traditional as well as digital illustrations. 

 

Project experience was a period of intense learning about a deity around whom revolves the life of the whole town. The craft of Pichhwai  was unique because of its purpose. Pichhwai came into existence for Srinathji, a swaroop of Krishna.
